Η Ελένη Καρατζιά-Σταυλιώτη είναι αφυπηρετήσασα Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια του ΤΕΠΕΚΕ του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών. Σπούδασε στην Παιδαγωγική Ακαδημία Κύπρου και στη Νομική Σχολή- Οικονομικό Τμήμα, Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ). Παρακολούθησε το Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών «Οικονομικά της Εκπαίδευσης και Εκπαιδευτική Πολιτική» στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Λονδίνου- Ινστιτούτο Εκπαίδευσης, όπου εκπόνησε και τη διδακτορική της διατριβή με θέμα «Ανάλυση Κόστους-Αποτελεσματικότητας της διδασκαλίας και αξιολόγησης Νέων Ελληνικών Ανωτέρου Επιπέδου (Modern Greek A-level exams) στα Ελληνικά Σχολεία του Λονδίνου και η Καλλιέργεια της Ελληνικής Κουλτούρας σε αυτά). Εργάστηκε ως εκπαιδευτικός Πρωτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης, Σχολική Σύμβουλος Πρωτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης, Σύμβουλος Δημοτικής Εκπαίδευσης του Παιδαγωγικού Ινστιτούτου και εξελέγη μέλος ΔΕΠ του Παιδαγωγικού Τμήματος Δημοτικής Εκπαίδευσης του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών (σήμερα ΤΕπΕΚΕ), με γνωστικό αντικείμενο «Εκπαιδευτική Αξιολόγηση». Έχει σημαντικό αριθμό δημοσιεύσεων σε διεθνή και ελληνικά περιοδικά και σε Πρακτικά Συνεδρίων, καθώς και έτερο-αναφορές στο έργο της. Συμμετείχε στη διαμόρφωση των Διαθεματικών Προγραμμάτων Σπουδών και του αντίστοιχου εκπαιδευτικού υλικού. Είναι συν-συγγραφέας 3 βιβλίων με θέματα σχετικά με την αξιολόγηση, τον εκπαιδευτικό σχεδιασμό και τη Βιοπαιδαγωγική θεωρία μάθησης. Επίσης συμμετέχει σε εθνικά και διεθνή ερευνητικά προγράμματα σχετικά με το πεδίο ενασχόλησής της και υπήρξε μέλος επιστημονικής επιτροπής συνεδρίων και κριτής επιστημονικών εργασιών.
Eleni Karatzia-Stavlioti is a retired Associate Professor of the Department of Educational Science and Early Childhood Education at the University of Patras. She studied at the Cyprus Pedagogical Academy and at the Faculty of Law – Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She later attended the Postgraduate Programme in Economics of Education and Educational Policy at the University of London – Institute of Education, where she also completed her doctoral dissertation entitled: “Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of the Teaching and Assessment of Modern Greek A-Level Examinations in Greek Schools in London and the Cultivation of Greek Culture within them.”
She worked as a primary education teacher, School Advisor for Primary Education, and Advisor for Primary Education at the Pedagogical Institute, before being elected faculty member (DEP) at the Department of Primary Education of the University of Patras (now the Department of Educational Science and Early Childhood Education), with the academic field of Educational Evaluation.
She has a significant number of publications in international and Greek academic journals and in conference proceedings, and her work has received scholarly citations. She also contributed to the development of the Cross-Thematic Curriculum Framework and the corresponding educational material. She is co-author of three books on topics related to evaluation, educational planning, and the Biopedagogical theory of learning.
In addition, she has participated in national and international research projects related to her field of expertise and has served as a member of scientific committees for conferences and as a reviewer of academic papers.
